Legacy Project Contest
Do you have project that needs an extra set of hands to complete? Trail maintenance, garden planting, mulching, etc.…you are only limited by your creativity and budget.
In celebration of our 20th Anniversary, the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) will award sweat equity for a legacy service project to a qualified organization or school. The winner will receive 10+ volunteers who will provide their energy, muscles, and perseverance for up to a five-hour project. In order to be eligible, the winner:
- Must be a current member of EEA; and
- Provide all tools and supplies and one staff person to supervise.
The deadline to enter has passed. Once the winner is announced, the project must be completed by December 1, 2012. Winner must be willing to provide three possible project dates, so that we can ensure the greatest number of volunteers.
Legacy Project applicants will be asked for the following:
- For purposes of this competition, the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) defines a legacy project, as a project that is linked in a direct, hands-on approach to the mission of EEA and targets the resolution of a problem or an environmental concern. Briefly describe how the scope of your project meets the parameters of this definition.
- Describe the target community or communities that your project serves.
- Describe your project’s effectiveness in helping to solve the problems or concerns in the target community.
- If funding is required, how is the project funded?
- Will you be able to provide tools and all necessary supplies?
- How many staff members will be participating?
- What is your target date for completion of project? Please provide three possible dates.
- How many hours will you require the EEA volunteers?
