Environmental Education in Georgia

The Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) of Georgia is a proud partner of the EEinGeorgia.org website.  EEinGeorgia.org serves as Georgia's online guide to environmental education (EE). It was launched in 2002 with the goal of building statewide capacity for EE by providing:

  • EE lesson plans based on Georgia’s curriculum standards
  • Searchable directory of EE organizations serving Georgia
  • Searchable directory of Georgia Schools (K-12) who excel in EE
  • Database of state, regional and national EE resources
  • Statewide calendar of EE events
  • EE news (including current announcements, contests, grants, job openings, etc.)
  • Easy-to-access facts about Georgia's environment

EEinGeorgia.org is a collaborative project involving environmental educators, schools, and EE organizations throughout the state. It is sponsored by the Environmental Protection Division of Georgia Department of Natural Resources in partnership with:

  • Environmental Education Alliance of Georgia
  • Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Keep Georgia Beautiful Program
  • Georgia Department of Education
  • Georgia Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The EEinGeorgia model is currently used by seven other southeastern states (see www.southeastee.org) as well as Wisconsin and Hawaii.
