The 2025 Outdoor Learning Symposium will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Fernbank Science Center, 156 Heaton Park Drive, Atlanta, GA. (Note: NOT the natural history museum that is similarly named).
Join us for an exciting day of professional learning intended for K-12 teachers, college professors, and community (non-formal) educators and environmental stewardship project organizers. There will be sessions on how to create and manage outdoor learning spaces, teach effectively outdoors, and engage students or community groups in solving local problems. For example: find out how to plant trees that survive with minimal maintenance, create a schoolyard forest or arboretum, foster student-directed investigations on campus, facilitate community science projects; observe seasonal changes in trees or other schoolyard phenomena; engage students in "graduated challenges", and teach the Georgia standards outdoors. Registration is now open and Early Bird rates apply. Sign up today! Workshop and presentation proposals are being accepted through August 31 or until filled. Scroll down to submit a proposal. |
