EEA Leadership Workshop Oct 9, 2023
36 people attended the first-ever EEA Leadership Workshop, which took place on October 9th, 2023 at the Kendeda Center. Participants, who including current and aspiring EEA instructors, presenters, board and advisory group members, reviewers, mentors, and volunteers, collaborated with their counterparts from different programs. This professional learning event focused on ensuring that presenters can articulate EEA's strategic plan and goals, use consistent messaging, and incorporate best practices and inclusive instructional strategies. The workshop was free and included lunch.
MAG's Symbolic Monarch Migration

More than 25,000 children across North America, including 53 classrooms in Mexico, joined MAG for the 28th annual "Symbolic Monarch Butterfly Migration" in fall of 2023. Families, home schools, nature centers, youth groups, and schools participated in this exciting cultural experience and community science project. The exchange of symbolic butterflies builds bridges of communication between students in Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. United by the monarch butterfly, children across North America learn authentic lessons of conservation, cooperation, and ambassadorship.
EEA's Monarchs Across Georgia committee manages the Symbolic Migration and supports Estela Romero Vazquez's work coordinating the Mexican component of the program, in partnership with Journey North.
