What is the ATEEG Hybrid certification format?
The original certification format requires attendance and completion of three (3) in-person, three-day courses. Each of the three courses typically require lodging for 2 nights, depending on where you are traveling from.
The new hybrid certification format is a mix of online and in-person components. Each of the three core courses includes a one-day in-person workshop. Depending on the course, self-paced modules and/or synchronous session(s) with an instructor will comprise the online component .
For both the original and hybrid formats, candidates for certification must complete 30 "specialization hours" of professional development workshops and/or conference sessions, as well as, an assessed independent study project.

What makes this October 1 course unique?
All certification candidates must start their journey with Core Course 1 (CC1). The next Core Course 1 workshop will be offered at the end of the EEA Annual Conference on October 1. Those who attend the Conference, Sept 29-Sept 30, will be able to count some conference sessions and/or field trips toward the 30 specialization hours required for certification. Conference registrants also receive a 30% discount off the cost of the CC1 Workshop.
What are the logistics for this upcoming Hybrid course?
Core Course 1 (CC1) is split into 2 parts. The first part is the in-person workshop that will take place on Saturday, Oct 1 in conjunction with the EEA Annual Conference at Unicoi State Park in Helen, GA. The hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm, with lunch included. Candidates are expected to complete a pre-workshop assignment before October 1.
The fee for the CC1 workshop is $130 for non-EEA members or $100 for EEA members. Those who attend the EEA / SEEA Conference, September 29-30, will receive a 30% discount and can add the CC1 Workshop to their Conference registration for just $70.
Part 2 of Core Course 1 will begin after the October 1 workshop via live webinar sessions (TBD). There will be a separate $100 registration fee for Part 2 of Core Course 1, due at the beginning of October.
The online work is organized on EEA's Canvas platform. Participants will be trained on how to use the platform by the ATEEG Program Administrator. The date of this training will be scheduled to accommodate the group, sometime before Oct. 1.
Following both parts of Core Course 1, certification candidates will take Core Courses 2 and 3, finish 30 specialization hours, and successfully complete an assessed independent project. Depending on the locations, it is anticipated that hybrid versions of Core Courses 2 and 3 (one-day workshops plus online work) will cost about $200 each, while original versions (all in-person) cost about $300 each.
Whether you attend the hybrid Core Course 1 as a stand-alone workshop or an add-on to the EEA / SEEA Conference, certification candidates are welcome to stay at Unicoi State Park Lodge on Friday and / or Saturday nights using discount code: 09947. Reservations are cancellable up to 72 hours before arrival. Please note that lodging is limited and the discounted room block will soon be released.
