The Eco-Educator Workshop is intended for rangers, naturalists, nature center staff, and environmental educators in non-formal settings who are interested in aligning their programs and instructional strategies more closely with state education standards. The focus will be on "3-Dimensional Science" including how to transition from traditional hands-on activities to phenomenon-based, student-centered learning. Participants will explore "swaps" that make it easy to transition to 3-D Science; try their hands at "3-Dimensionalizing" traditional hands-on activities; investigate ways in which outdoor learning is particularly suited to 3-D Science; and gain experience engaging students in science and engineering practices, along with crosscutting concepts, to make sense of core ideas. There will be time to meet and network with other professionals in the field of environmental and outdoor learning. The workshop - including lunch - is free, but space is limited. Register today!
