2023 Environmental Education Award Recipients
No awards were given this year, as the Conference transitioned from a fall event (2022 SEEA Regional Conference in Oct 2022) back to a spring event (2024 EEA Conference at Jekyll Island Feb 29 - Mar 2).
2022 Environmental Education Award Recipients
Amanda Buice (center) receiving Outstanding Educator Award from Jennifer McCoy and Naomi Thompson. Amanda is Executive Director of GYSTC and former Science Program Manager for the GA Dept. of Education. As a classroom teacher, Amanda was a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She has served on the Advisory Board of EEA's ATEEG certification program, managed the ATEEG re-accreditation process, and facilitated environmental education for teachers.
Zipa Vokhiwa, former President of the EEA Board, received the EEA Leadership Award remotely. Dr. Vokhiwa is a Fulbright Scholar and professor of environmental science at Mercer.
